We believe long-term thinking matters and that investment decisions cannot be made in isolation. By adopting a whole-of-portfolio view, our valuation models focus on long-term investment opportunities. The ability to access and diversify across a broad range of factors, as opposed to asset class labels, is key to generating positive investment outcomes.
Investment risk has characteristics that make it more predictable than returns. Using a risk-based investment philosophy, we seek to understand clients' risk tolerances in order to set objectives. Success is achieving well understood objectives for clients, which includes risk and return, liquidity requirements and funded status.
Established in 1991 as the Queensland Government’s dedicated investment manager, QIC’s founding legislation provides independence from government in investment decision-making.
