Resilience in Retail

The QIC Global Real Estate and Economics Teams are proud to release our holistic outlook for retail stores in Australia. We have analysed the Australian economy, the effect this will have on the Australian consumer and how this will translate to online vs brick and mortar sales.

Our findings indicate that despite near-term headwinds stemming from the current correction in the Australian housing market, the retail growth outlook in Australia remains robust and the retail real estate asset class retains its long-term resilience. We also look into the importance of the omni-channel approach our most successful retailers are taking with more than half of all online sales generated by stores with a physical presence.
