QIC will invest more than $600 million in the next stage of redevelopment at Castle Towers, with construction set to commence next month.
With Castle Towers directly connected to Castle Hill Metro station and located at the heart of the Castle Hill town centre, the project will transform approximately 30,000 sqm across four levels, introducing 70 new stores alongside a new 6,000 sqm rooftop health and wellness destination - set to be the largest of its kind in Sydney.
The investment reflects QIC’s strong conviction in the continued growth of the Hills District and the long-term potential of Castle Towers, materially broadening the centre’s offer across fresh food, fashion, sport, premium and Australian designer labels, dining and lifestyle, alongside an enhanced entertainment offer including a new Gold Class experience by Event Cinemas.
Spanning approximately 6,000 sqm of indoor and outdoor space, the proposed rooftop health and wellness offer will introduce a state-of-the-art health club concept with a strong focus on wellness, fitness and recovery. Designed as a fully integrated precinct and a destination in its own right, the offer establishes health and wellbeing as one of the defining components of the next phase of Castle Towers.
The precinct is a key component of the continued evolution of Castle Towers, broadening the centre’s category mix and extending its relevance across more parts of the day. It will reinforce Castle Towers’ role as a higher-frequency, multi-purpose anchor for daily life and support its evolution into a more active day-to-night destination.
Across the transformed levels, the redevelopment will build on Castle Towers’ already formidable retail offer, strengthening and broadening the category mix across contemporary and international fresh food, fashion, sport, footwear and lifestyle. The new stores will complement the centre’s design precinct, forthcoming lifestyle precinct and established premium retail offer, expanding the breadth of the asset while creating a more complete mix of retail, dining, leisure and recreation.
QIC’s recent investment in Castle Towers’ new lifestyle precinct across Levels 2 and 3 provides an early indication of the centre’s next phase of growth. Repurposing existing tenancy space into a new two-level fashion and lifestyle destination, the precinct will feature new brands including JD Sports, Lululemon, LSKD and City Beach, alongside refreshed concepts from Nike, Universal Store and Kookai, and is expected to open in late 2026.
The strong leasing response provides further evidence of retailer demand at Castle Towers and creates a clear bridge into the next stage of investment, which will mark the first major delivery phase of QIC’s broader mixed-use masterplan for the centre.
Deborah Coakley, Managing Director of Real Estate at QIC, said the strength of retailer demand for space at Castle Towers reinforced QIC’s conviction in Sydney’s north-west, particularly the Hills District.
“This is already one of the portfolio’s most important retail assets, supported by a strong catchment and direct Metro connectivity. Delivering this next stage allows us to build on those fundamentals by broadening the category mix, introducing new uses and creating a more productive and relevant asset over the long term.
“We are investing with a clear view of how the centre needs to evolve as part of the broader masterplan. The objective is to strengthen Castle Towers’ competitive position, increase its relevance to customers and retailers and continue creating long-term value for our investors.”
Completion is currently anticipated in late 2029, with Castle Towers remaining operational as works progress.
