
Marayka Ward
Director, Fixed Income Strategy
Marayka is responsible for Fixed Income Strategy including sustainable investing within the Liquid Markets Group. She joined QIC in 2002 from EY, initially to establish the in-house legal capability before joining the fixed interest team. With a background in credit research, trading, and portfolio management, Marayka’s credit experience crosses most industries.
Marayka is a member of the UNPRI’s global Sovereign Debt Advisory Committee, and a collaborator on the pilot sovereign engagement on climate risk with Australia. She also sits on Australian Financial Markets Association’s Sustainability Committee, the QIC Liquid Markets Group Investment Committee, and the Griffith University SIF Investment Committee. Marayka has been awarded a KangaNews “Market People of the Year” Award for contributions to the Australian fixed income market.
Marayka holds a Master of Laws from the University of Queensland, a Bachelor of Laws from the Queensland University of Technology, a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the College of Law NSW, and a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investments from Finsia.
