Allison Hill

State Chief Investment Officer

Allison is the State Chief Investment Officer within the State Investments team and has direct responsibility for all portfolios managed on behalf of the State of Queensland.

Allison has more than 28 years’ experience in investment management and financial markets. Prior to joining QIC, Allison was the Chief Executive Officer at DMP Asset Management, where she oversaw the investment process and asset consulting practice. 

Allison also spent 11 years at Frontier Advisors as a Senior Consultant, where she led several of Australia’s largest superannuation funds, was the Head of Debt and Alternatives Research and a member of Frontier’s investment and leadership committees.  

Allison has a Bachelor of Commerce from Melbourne University and holds several post graduate qualifications including a Graduate Diploma in Management from the AGSM. She is also a Graduate Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. 


Ross Israel

Ross Israel

Head of Global Infrastructure

Ross co-founded QIC’s Infrastructure capability in early 2006. He provides overall leadership to the team which currently manages 24 direct investments out of offices in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, New York and London.

As a member of the QIC Infrastructure Investment Committee, Ross has had oversight of all the team’s investments. In addition to his infrastructure responsibilities, Ross is also a member of QIC’s Executive Management Committee. 

Ross has more than 30 years’ experience in the field of corporate finance and funds management, with specialist skills in infrastructure, asset management, capital raising and M&A.

Ross is currently a director on the Board of Generate Capital.

He holds a Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Law from the University of Queensland and is a FINSIA Senior Fellow. 

Michael O'Brien

Michael O'Brien

Managing Director, Real Estate

With a career spanning more than 30 years in the property industry, Michael is responsible for driving real estate investment and business strategy in alignment with the expectations of our investors, partners and the communities in which we operate in his role as Managing Director – Real Estate.

Michael continues to drive QIC Real Estate’s diversity and inclusion initiatives as an executive member of the Property Council of Australia’s Champions of Change Coalition.

Michael completed a Bachelor of Commerce at the University of NSW and Harvard Business School’s Advanced Management Program.

Michael is National President of the Property Council of Australia and also sits on the Board of the Shopping Centre Council of Australia.  

Beverly Morris

Beverley Morris

Head of Liquid Markets Group

Beverley is responsible for leading QIC’s Liquid Markets Group. The Liquid Markets Group comprises QIC’s cash and fixed income capability, as well as a multi-asset derivatives capability, which incorporates a wide range of synthetic strategies, including currency hedging, asset overlays, protection strategies and other derivative solutions.

Beverley joined QIC in 2002, and has significant depth and experience in portfolio management, having previously led QIC’s Fixed Income team. She also has a strong background in macro and interest rate strategy, through previous roles as Macro Strategist and Chief Economist at QIC. Prior to joining QIC, Beverley held senior economist positions at the Bank of England in London, and at Queensland Treasury.  

Beverley is a Board member of the Australian Financial Markets Association (AFMA). Beverley holds a Bachelor of Business (Economics) (Honours) from the Queensland University of Technology.

Steven Whatmore

Stephen Whatmore

Head of Private Equity

Stephen joined QIC and the Private Equity team in 2008 and is focused on the overall strategy of the Private Equity capability, along with being a member of the Private Equity Investment and Management Committees. 

Prior to his current role, Stephen established the Private Equity office in San Francisco and led the North American team. While in the US, Stephen invested across all private equity strategies, including venture capital, buyouts, secondaries and co-investments.

Stephen is involved in the Institutional Limited Partners Association (ILPA), the global industry body for institutional investors in Private Equity, where he was recently Vice Chair and a member of the Industry Affairs Committee. 

Stephen holds a Bachelor of Economics and Laws degree from Sydney University. 

Simon La Greca

Simon La Greca

Head of Private Debt

Simon is responsible for leading QIC’s Private Debt activities globally including Infrastructure Debt and Multi Sector Private Debt.

Simon is a member of both the QIC Infrastructure Debt and Multi Sector Private Debt Investment Committees. He held similar roles at AMP Capital and Ares Management.

Simon has over 23 years of experience in the industry and throughout his career he has focused on investing capital in the infrastructure debt and leveraged/private credit sectors globally. Prior to QIC, Simon was a founding partner of the AMP Capital Infrastructure Debt team and was a key part of the global expansion of the Infrastructure Debt business which successfully deployed over US$10bn of capital. 

Daniel Cheverton

Daniel Cheverton

Executive Director, Corporate Affairs, Government and Strategy

Daniel leads the Corporate Affairs, Government and Strategy team and is responsible for QIC’s government clients, shareholder relations, external affairs, strategy development and strategic initiatives, corporate secretariat, corporate performance and reporting and internal communications.

Daniel has 20 years’ experience in government and public affairs. Prior to joining QIC he worked in public affairs for the Australian energy company Santos, most particularly on the US$18.5 billion GLNG project. He has previously served as a chief of staff and advisor to Australian and Queensland government ministers, mainly in transport and infrastructure portfolios.

Daniel holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Queensland, a Diploma of Superannuation from the Australian Institute of Superannuation Trustees, has completed the Program for Leadership Development at Harvard Business School and is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Bill Burton

Director, Corporate Secretariat & Governance

Bill is the QIC group Company Secretary and leader of the Corporate Secretariat team with responsibility for the effective management of QIC’s corporate governance frameworks. Bill aligns governance practices with corporate and strategic objectives, and ensures timely reporting to Board and Committees, regulators and shareholders. 

Bill has been a member of the QIC team since 2012, where he has performed roles of Managing Legal Counsel and Head of Corporate Secretariat, before being promoted to his current Corporate Leadership role and member of QIC’s Executive Committee.  

Prior to joining QIC, Bill held legal positions at Allens Linklaters, DLA Piper UK, Allens Arthur Robinson, Phillips Fox and at the Queensland Supreme Court. 

Bill holds a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Arts from the University of Queensland, and he has been admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of Queensland and the High Court of Australia.

Brad Williams

Executive Director, Finance

As Executive Director of Finance, Brad supports QIC’s Chief Financial and Operating Officer with leading enterprise financial outcomes through the provision of strategic advice, analysis, decision support and business partnering.

Under his leadership, QIC’s Finance team delivers financial services for the QIC corporate group, investment products, mandates and real estate assets. In addition, Brad chairs QIC’s Financial Reporting Committee.

Brad holds a Bachelor of Business from Queensland University of Technology and is a Fellow of CPA Australia and the Financial Services Institute of Australasia.

Rowan Griffin

Rowan Griffin

Executive Director, ESG

Rowan joined QIC in October 2022 as Executive Director, ESG.

Rowan has more than 20 years’ experience in the responsible investment and ESG space within financial services. He has previously held senior sustainability roles with Lendlease and Colonial First State Global Asset Management (CFSGAM, now First Sentier Investors).

Over his career, Rowan has been instrumental in developing, supporting and progressing the work of the UNEP-FI, UNPRI, Investor Group on Climate Change (IGCC), GRESB and the Green Building Councils in Australia and globally.

Rowan holds a Bachelor of Commerce, Real Estate Valuation from the University of South Africa, and a Bachelor of Science, Building Science, Property Development from the University of KwaZulu-Natal. 

Mark McDonald

Executive Director, Operations and Technology

Mark leads QIC’s Operations and Technology functions, and is responsible for managing investment operations, development and execution of ICT strategy, delivery of technology services, program management, and facilities functions. His team provides services to all investment teams and business units across QIC.

Mark holds a Bachelor of Commerce and a Master of Business Studies from University College Dublin.

Deidre Rowe

Executive Director, People and Culture

Deidre has more than 20 years’ professional experience in the private and public sector across a range of industries including investment management, superannuation, insurance, energy, real estate, banking and retail.

Deidre brings to QIC a depth of experience in HR function establishment and leadership; organisational design and transformation projects; company acquisitions, divestments, and outsourcing; cultural integration; HR strategy development and implementation (including employee engagement, talent management and development, remuneration, benefits and reward, employee relations and DE&I).

Deidre holds a Bachelor of Social Science, Psychology, from Australian Catholic University.

Charlotte Davis

Charlotte Davis

Executive General Counsel

Charlotte leads the QIC Legal Team and is responsible for the provision of legal services and advice across QIC’s investment management business in Australia and internationally.

A banking and financial services lawyer by background, Charlotte specialties include banking and financial services, risk management and corporate governance, employment, corporate and commercial law.

Admitted in 1997 and with over 25-years’ experience, Charlotte’s previous roles were in legal private-practice most recently with the Herbert Smith Freehills’ Banking and Financial Services team where she focused on debt transactions for lenders and borrowers, financial services and personal property security. She joined QIC in 2017 making the transition to an in-house role and becoming General Counsel – Corporate in 2018.

Charlotte currently holds a practicing certificate in Queensland and is admitted in Queensland, New South Wales and England and Wales. Charlotte holds a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) and a Bachelor of Laws from the Australian National University.
